    Paintball FAQ

    Question: What is speedball?

Answer: Speedball is a variation of paintball that is played on small, flat fields, and as its name suggests, the pace of the game is very quick. Players are in much closer proximity to each other at the start of games and the only barriers on the field are man-made bunkers. Stealth is not as important as teamwork, timing, accurate shooting and fast-paced strategies. The objective of speedball is similar to other paintball games, with the goal to eliminate the other team or capture a flag and return it to your base. Speedball is intended for people who like to run, dive, slide, shoot fast, play hard and play quick games.

    Question: Does Paintball Stain Clothes?

Answer: Paintballs generally will not stain clothing or fabrics. I have found that certain brands of paintballs will stain certain light-colored fabrics. This is dependent upon the dye used in coloring the fill and the fabric. I have found that cheaper paints are more likely to stain white cotton or cotton/poly fabrics. I have never seen a paintball stain a dark-colored fabric. A good rule of thumb is to not play paintball with light clothing and you shouldn't have a problem.

    Question: Who is Paintball For?

Answer:Paintball is for anyone who likes competition, action, strategy and skill.

Question: Does It Hurt to Get Hit by a Paintball

Answer: Sometimes. While a player will usually feel a slight sting that will quickly fade - similar to a firm flick on the arm - paintballs can also cause welts and bruises depending on the speed of the ball, the distance the ball travels, and where on your body the ball hits. To keep things fun and safe, be sure to keep your gun firing slower than 280 feet per second, and never shoot people from less than 20 feet away. How much a paintball hurts also depends on how much padding you wear. If you are only dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, expect small bruises that will fade in a few days, while a sweatshirt or other thick clothing will usually prevent bruising. Some people will wear protective vests, but I have generally found these to be unnecessary. Paintballs that break (or worse, bounce off and don’t break) on bare skin will hurt, but this can be avoided by wearing gloves to protect your hands, backwards baseball caps to cover your neck, and long-sleeve shirts and pants to protect your arms and legs. Your head is already protected by your mask, and a shot to the goggles rarely hurts at all. Most severe bruising occurs from guns that are shooting hot (too fast) or from shooting from too small a distance. If you are concerned about getting bruised, wear multiple layers and you shouldn't have any problems.

Question: What Gear Do You Need To Play Paintball?

Answer: There are four basic pieces of gear that you need to play paintball: a mask, a hopper, a tank, and a paintball marker. (we offer everthing you need to play) You will also need paintballs to play. A mask must be worn at all times to protect your face and prevent any serious injury. Never step onto a paintball field without your mask and always follow basic safety rules. A hopper holds your paintballs and feeds them into your gun. There are many different types of hoppers, so choose what works best for you and your gun. A tank holds stored air that, when released, pushes the ball down the barrel. You can get either a carbon dioxide (CO2) or a compressed air tank depending on your needs and playing style. A paintball gun is largely a choice for the individual - how much are you willing to spend and what do you want the gun to be able to do? Read the reviews and learn all you can before you buy. Paintballs come in all different colors and prices. More expensive paint typically performs better.

Question: How Much Does a Good Paintball Marker Cost?

Answer: It all depends on your definition of a "good paintball gun". A mid level paintball marker that will allow you to compete with anyone, you can probably find one for around $300. The differences between guns that cost over $300 are minimal and you end up spending many hundreds of dollars for very slight performance improvements. A high-end paintball marker could cost up to $1,500 and when you add a top of the line compressed air tank and loader, you could spend $2,000 for your gear.
